2000 Year Old Mummy Still Has Natural Hair

Well well well would you look at that?  Turns out that there is some serious truth to the fact the Egyptians were Africans huh?I often wondered why Hollywood refused to accurately display movies that have Egyptians with warmer skin tones. That always boggled my mind. The natural hair of this mummy proves what history has been saying all along.

I tell you one thing though, after 2000 years her natural hair is still intact, i have GOT to know which protein treatment she was using cuz damn. 2000 years?! Some of us can’t stop our hair from falling out after a month, but 2000 years?!

The ancient Egyptians styled their hair using a fat-based ‘gel’, an analysis of mummies has found. The researchers behind the study say that the Egyptians used the product to ensure that their style stayed in place in both life and death.

Natalie McCreesh, an archaeological scientist from the KNH Centre for Biomedical Egyptology at the University of Manchester, UK, and her colleagues studied hair samples taken from 18 mummies. The oldest is around 3,500 years old, but most were excavated from a cemetery in the Dakhleh Oasis in the Western Desert, and date from Greco-Roman times, around 2,300 years ago.

High-status ancient Egyptians, such as Queen Nodjmet, may have used fatty products to carry their hair style into the afterlife.Source

PAUSE!! This statement ALONE confirms the fact that THESE WOMEN WERE AFRICAN! LAWD! Yall know how we act over our hair!!? These hens took percautions to ensure their hair was still whipping IN THE AFTERLIFE!!

I can believe it!! I saw some mummies when i went to the Vatican and they still have their hair in tact. The one I saw had red curly hair . I also see that her earlobes looked stretched I’d be interested in seeing what sort of jewelry she wore in her ears.

wow. they had that good stuff

  4. Not all had hair like that though, just look at the hair of the pharaoh Ramses. He had straight red brown hair. I think they were a mixture of different people but mostly from sub Sahara Africa.

    1. Mean Joe Green says:

Africans and maybe a little bit of Middle-Eastern mixtures that would explain lighter skin / diff texture hair varieties. Sad such an empire would eventually become nothingness, and Africa would be in a state of disarray that it currently resides.

  5. That is some beat a** Gel. Let me find out what is in it, it will becoming to a market near you

  6. VERY interesting! We all know that many Egyptians were of African descent. I don’t understand why Hollywood keeps trying to feed us that garbage. If I can find what they used that can keep their hair laid 2000 years later, I’m a customer for LIFE! 🙂

So blacks enslaved an entire nation?

    1. coffeebreak says:

Are you referring to the Biblical story of the slavery of the Jews in Egypt? You know that’s a fictional origin story, right? Like how the ancient Greeks believed they came from Prometheus and Athena. You know that, right?

  8. LoL I hear you on that

  9. Of course the Egyptians are Africans. Egypt if in north east Africa. Many mistakenly think it is in the Middle East.
