So if your following me on social media, you know that my birthday was Feb 19th and I made the #Great28. Did yall know I started this blogging thing when I was 21? Wow yall have literally been watching me grow! Crazy
I spent the weekend in the Buick Enclave courtesy of Buick so I could road trip to my heart’s content . I fell in love with this car and really didn’t want to give it back.
I even did a periscope video on the inside of it. Check it out here
My other half surprised me with horseback riding which was so much fun because it was my first time! He also took me to breakfast that morning . Yall know I love food!
My horse was a little defiant and kept running me into the trees but that’s because the horse behind me was biting it’s butt and he was getting irritated lol!
It was so refreshing to do something new and there is nothing like a horse back ride to make you never want to drive a car again. It’s just not the same!
I completely feel like horseback riding is something I can definitely see myself doing in the future.
Then we took a ride down to Biloxi the next day to get breakfast and head to the beach for a bit.
From there we went to the Slavery Museum in Wallace, LA on the Whitney Plantation. It’s something I really feel every African- American really should experience
You really can’t comprehend what the slaves went through by just reading it in a text book. You have to go there and see what our ancestors went through. It’s something that you really can’t just hear about.
This is a real slave house that I’m standing in front of. 10 to 15 people used to live in this ONE home? How?? If you ever get the chance to go see it,PLEASE GO! You won’t regret it.
These are the kinds of beds that they used to sleep in. I always heard about the living conditions but I never knew it was this bed. Who could ACTUALLY sleep on this?
To have survived such an animalistic experience, our ancestors would have had to been extremely strong willed people.
This is a quote from people who were actually slaves and what they experienced
You can check out more pictures from my trip to the museum here.
This was by far one of the best birthdays I’ve ever had. 27 was cool because I spent it in ATL but 28.. man 28 was great all thanks to the love of my life.
